Key Insights:

  • SEI crypto showed upside potential towards $0.138 after confirmed RSI divergence.
  • Coinbase 50 inclusion boosts SEI’s visibility, with $0.15 as a key target.
  • Holding $0.12 support, analysts say, keeps the path open for a push back to $0.14.

SEI crypto is holding a key range after a strong reaction to major institutional news. The asset attracted attention after its inclusion in the Coinbase 50 Index. Analysts now determine whether the listing can carry a broader recovery in the next few sessions.

SEI Crypto Holds Key Level

At the time of writing, SEI crypto traded near $0.12 following a volatile week characterized by sharp selling. Despite the pressure, the market reacted very strongly to the Coinbase 50 Index announcement.

According to Tanaka, the listing indicates that SEI has now met institutional-grade liquidity and fundamental standards. He said that funds and structured products widely use the index.

Tanaka explained that COIN50 was a market-cap-weighted basket of the top 50 investable assets on Coinbase. Components cannot exceed 50%, so neither BTC nor ETH would dominate the benchmark. SEI now joins this list at a weight of 0.06%. Tanaka thought that this visibility may attract passive inflows or index-linked allocations in the future.

Institutional Index Impact Grows

More context came from Coinbase Institutional’s quarterly update. The platform verified the addition of Hedera, Mantle, VeChain, Flare, SEI, and Immutable X. These assets are now part of the COIN50 rebalancing group. This index measures the performance of the best eligible digital assets on the exchange. The inclusion of SEI marks an important milestone considering its trading depth.

Andrew Moh elaborated on the index’s benefit to SEI’s attractiveness. He said the asset is more attractive for both the institutions and retail investors on Coinbase. He mentioned greater credibility, greater visibility, and familiarity with traditional investors. Index products track equity strategies, making the transition easier for multi-asset managers.

Andrew Moh pointed out that COIN50 has beaten traditional benchmarks in overall returns. Data shows a total return of 202.8% compared to equities of 51.9%.

Annualized returns are also higher than most competing indexes. He anticipated that SEI would benefit from this, given increasing index-linked exposure.

Bullish Divergence Appears on Charts

Positive trends were also shown through technical analysis. Analyst Ali observed a bullish divergence in the RSI following a sharp decline.

His chart depicted a declining price channel, whose momentum was skimming out at the bottom band. According to him, this trend indicates a potential reversal to the December open of around $0.138.

Ali’s chart showed a clear divergence between price and RSI. Price was making new lows while RSI was making higher lows. This structure usually precedes short-term recoveries. This aligns with the broader support zone visible across multiple timeframes.

According to CoinMarketCap, SEI is trading with a 24-hour volume of $84.45 million. The circulating supply hovers around 6.37 billion tokens.

SEI price will be sensitive to market-wide conditions; however, traders will look for confirmation of the divergence. Interestingly, a close above $0.13 would reinforce the bullish case.

Broader Implications for Long-Term Adoption

Tanaka said the listing indicates that SEI had reached a level of maturity to use institutional strategies.

The update reinforces the notion that SEI is no longer trading only on story-driven cycles. Instead, the asset is evolving into organized financial frameworks. This shift may expand SEI’s investor base over the next year.

Andrew Moh added that SEI’s entry into COIN50 bridges crypto and traditional finance. He said the index provides access to capital pools that are often reserved for equities. Index exposure is common in pensions, ETFs, and model portfolios. The inclusion by SEI opens a new distribution channel with long-term impact.
