Key Insights:
- Ethereum price lost 33% in February as ETF outflows topped $300 million.
- Investors are shifting to Litecoin and Solana ETFs amid ETH uncertainty.
- ETH price risks deeper losses if it fails to hold the $2,200 support level.
Ethereum price fell heavily in February 2025 and ended the month down by 33%. The price was initially pegged at $3,200, but it reduced to $2,200 towards the end of the month. The outflows from the Ethereum ETFs have contributed to the bearish indicators noted on the price charts. Furthermore, investors are moving toward other alt-ETFs.
Ethereum Price Drops 33% in February
Ethereum price experienced constant selling pressure throughout February as the investors’ sentiment remained negative. Unlike major altcoins like Solana (SOL) and XRP which were on the rise, ETH failed to capture these buyers. The price decreased by 22% in the last week where it traded at $2,800 on Monday and at around $2,220 by Friday.
Broadening the focus to the daily chart, the extent of Ethereum price drop becomes evident. The cryptocurrency was trading at $3,200 in the beginning of the month but closed February at $2,220, a drop of 33%. The losses have caused the investors to be worried as ETH fails to make a positive move in the market.

Ethereum ETFs Record $300 Million in Outflows
Notably, institutional investors have been selling their positions in ETFs and withdrawn more than $300 million in seven trading days. The trend also showed weak institutional interest in the short-term price performance of the ETH. The single biggest redemptions were recorded on February 26 at a tune of $94.3 million in Ethereum based ETFs.
Other outflows were observed all through the week. On February 24, the redemption was $78 million and $50.1 million on February 25. The selling pressure was maintained the next day as $71.2 million was redeemed from ETH ETFs on February 27.

However, there were no ETH inflows observed during the week. This marks the first time that ETH saw fund redemptions since January 2025. Interestingly, this could indicate that institutional investors are protecting against further declines or investing in other types of assets.
Investors Shift Focus to Alternative ETFs
Ethereum ETF outflows have coincided with growing investor interest in alternative cryptocurrency ETFs. Litecoin (LTC) and Solana (SOL) have gained traction, as traders anticipate potential approvals from regulators. Several key developments suggest capital is shifting away from Ethereum.
Bitwise recently filed for an Aptos ETF, sparking renewed interest in newer blockchain projects. Polymarket betting markets currently predict a 90% chance of Litecoin’s ETF gaining SEC approval. CME Group’s move toward launching Solana futures ETFs has also boosted institutional confidence in SOL.
Key Support and Resistance Levels for Ethereum
Ethereum price remains under pressure as the market struggles to recover from recent losses. ETH is currently trading near the lower band of the Donchian Channel, signaling continued selling pressure. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) sits at 29.53, confirming that ETH is in oversold conditions.

A bullish scenario requires Ethereum price to hold the $2,200 support level, where minor accumulation has been observed. If buyers step in, ETH could attempt a short-term recovery toward $2,466. This level aligns with the Donchian Channel’s midline and previous resistance zones.
However, if Ethereum price fails to hold $2,200, further downside risks remain. A break below this level could send Ethereum toward $2,076, with $2,000 serving as the next major support. Continued selling pressure could push ETH even lower, extending its losses into March.
