On April 03, 2023, Phoenix Group Holdings Plc completed the acquisition of the UK-based Sun Life Financial Inc. The acquisition takes place in line with the agreement of August 2022. The purchase was completed for £248 Million. Phoenix Group holds £260 billion worth of assets, and it is the UK’s most prominent long-term savings and retirement business with over 12 million customers.

PHNX Stock gained 0.82% during the intraday session and is trading at  £516.4. It is now going up through a relief rally with a slight presence of buyers. The 20-day EMA just now faced rejection, while the price is approaching the 50-day EMA.

However, the past weekly return shows that the price had suffered bearish dominance with a negative result of 1.75%. Moreover, the price has been experiencing a downtrend momentum since the start of 2023, forming lower lows and highs.

Phoenix Group Holdings is scheduled to announce its first half-yearly report on September 18, 2023. The market analysts have released the H1-2023 forecasts. The estimated revenue is  £3.78 Billion, and the estimated EPS (earning per share) is  £0.31.

 Source: (LSE: PHNX) by TradingView.

Phoenix Group Holdings Plc (PHNX) stock is trading below the 50, 100, and 200-day EMAs while facing rejection from the 20-day EMA, indicating long-term bearish momentum while showing a corrective phase in the price action.

The relative strength index (RSI) is at 47.83, suggesting that the PHNX stock price is in an oversold region, and there is a high possibility that it might face a relief rally soon.

The CMF (chaikin money flow) score has been hovering below the 0.00 mark since August 15, 2023, and is at -0.18, which indicates strong weakness. Hence, the price is facing bearish dominance in the market.

Conclusion

Phoenix Group Holdings Plc’s (PHNX) stock achieved an annual high at the £647 resistance level in early 2023, but the stock price has since declined by about 22%. The current scenario suggests that the price is in the oversold zone.

However, the price is surging upwards with a relief rally. If this momentum is sustained, the price might hike towards the  £530 mark and retest the 50–day EMA. On the contrary, if the bears snatch control from bulls, the price might melt and retest the annual low.
